Summary:

Upload your site to a Server using FTP in Dreamweaver

Establish an FTP connection in Dreamweaver so you can upload to a web server.

  •   This tutorial is part of the Fan-Tastic Project.


Step #1: Open your Site in Dreamweaver ~

Hopefully you've done this tutorial already …

Go to: Site > Manage Sites …

Double-Click your site …

Step #2: Remote Info ~

Click Advanced …

Step #3: FTP ~

Select FTP

Step #4: FTP ~

Type 207.166.7.35 under FTP host:

ftp info


Step #5: Your Login Name ~

Type scusd/studentID# under Login:

ftp-info

StudentID# is your District Login you use to login to the network.


Step #6: Your Password ~

Type the Password you use to login to the network.

ftp password


Step #7: Test ~

Hit Test and see if it works …

ftp test

If it doesn't work, go back and redo the steps to check your work.

Otherwise hit OK

ok


Step#8: Export your .ste file ~

Lastly, go back to to the Manage Sites menu and Export your settings.

Exporting saves your password and FTP settings in a ".ste" file for backup …

Step#9: Upload your site ~

Go to the Files menu and select "Put files … "

Last Step: Check your Work ~

Go to: http://207.166.7.35/portfolio/studentID#/ and see if it works …
