
Project Based Learning
• These classes make more sense if you look at them from a Project Based Learning perspective:
Students are given a project, which contains tutorials they apply toward completion of their final product.
Tutorials center on general skill building and students are encouraged to customize the results to suit their needs.
Each Class Starts …
… with a daily journal warm-up.
Usually a short question about the project theme or concept.
Then a Tutorial …
• Tutorials are intended to be applied toward completion of your final product.
Each tutorial is a step closer toward finishing the project.

Work Time …
• We don't want all the projects to look the same!
The rest of the time is devoted to customizing your own work, using what you've learned and manipulating it to your own needs.
Projects
The projects usually last about 10 days or 2 weeks.
Each project is designed around specific Elements and Principles of Design:
For example - Shape, Contrast, even Typography.

Tutorials
These Tutorials are designed to take approximately 30 to 40 minutes.
They are NOT just an errand or a chore.
Tutorials are intended to be applied toward completion of students' overall deliverable product.
