Powerpoint is a useful tool that many people overlook. In this project we use Powerpoint as an introduction to critical thinking and problem solving skills. Students must create a game in Powerpoint and plan their moves in advance. This requires abstract forethought as they implement their strategy on the computer.
Students create all the graphics and concepts for the game and many kids who've dreamed about becoming game designers get a taste of how complicated it can be.
Ambitious users can use the powerful animation features in Flash, but it's not required.

Daily Calendar
Here is a step by step list of activities students can follow with the ultimate goal of completing the project.
The schedule is designed to take 90 minutes a day.
Most days consist of 3 distinct parts:
1) Journal 2) Tutorial 3) Project Work
These assignments are NOT just errands or chores. Students are encouraged to take what they learn from the Journals and Tutorials and apply those skills toward completion of their final products.
