Portrait Project - Introduction to PhotoShop and the Pen Tool ~
• Sketch yourself using the "upside down" technique in Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain. Scan the result into the computer and create a self-portrait using a your sketch as a foundation.
• Then embellish the image using Photoshop: darken the lines, eliminate the clutter, and make it your own.
• This project produces very successful portraits that are almost cartoon-like.
• Students often are embarrassed, however, by themselves looking that way, but must understand that sometimes art work becomes MORE than the sum of its parts.
