Step #1: Open Your Project in Flash ~
✗ Open YOUR PROJECT in Flash …

Step #2: New Folder ~
✗ Create a New Folder - NOT A NEW LAYER …
✗ … AGAIN - a New Folder - Not a New Layer.
Step #3: Then Create a New Layer ~
✗ THEN create a New Layer.
Step #4: Drag the Layer ~
✗ Drag that new layer INTO the Folder:
✗ Name your new Folder and lock all your other layers except the one inside your folder.
Step #5: Oval Tool ~
✗ Get the Oval Tool which is behind the Rectangle Tool or hit the keyboard shortcut letter (o) …
✗ G… go to: Window > Color or hit the keyboard shortcut letters: Cmd(⌘)+Shift(⇧)+F9 …
✗ … click on stroke …
✗ … and set the stroke color to none =
✗ Set your Fill Color to Green or whatever …
Step #6: Draw an Oval ~
✗ Drag an Oval in the new layer …
Step #7: Make it Pointy ~
✗ Switch to the Selection Tool or hit the keyboard shortcut letter (v) …
✗ … hover over the edge of the shape until you see the cursor turns into this …
✗ … then, hold the down and drag.
✗ It may take a couple of tries - Don't give up!
Step #8: Linear Color ~
✗ Go to: Window > Color or hit: Shift (⇧) + Cmd (⌘) + F9 and select Linear Gradient as the Color type …
✗ … click the selector and pick your color.
✗ Do the other side too.
✗ You can adjust the color value too …
Step #9: Add the Gradient to your Shape ~
✗ Using the Paint Bucket you can fill the shape in many different ways.
Step #10: Copy and Paste the Shape ~
✗ Make another New Layer and drag it inside the folder (if necessary) …
✗ … Right-Click the shape, copy it and paste it in the New Layer.
✗ Get the Free Transform Tool or hit the keyboard shortcut letter (Q) …
✗ … position and rotate the shape.
✗ Repeat in New Layers all the way around.
Step #11: Center Circle ~
✗ Make another New Layer inside the folder.
✗ Hold the Shift key and drag a new circle.
✗ Holding Shift keeps the shape round.
Step #12: Center Circle Color ~
✗ Go to: Window > Color or hit: Shift (⇧) + Cmd (⌘) + F9 and click on Fill Color …
✗ … and select Radial in the Fill Style.
✗ … and change the color of the circle.
Step #13: Stem ~
✗ Make a New Layer
✗ Select the Brush Tool or hit the keyboard shortcut letter (B) …
✗ Change the color to black or brown or whatever and draw a stem.
Step #14: Symbols and Filters ~
✗ Hit the keyboard shortcut: Cmd(⌘)+A to select everything and then hit (or Right-Click and select: ) and make a Movie Clip.
✗ Then, in Properties, click Filter
✗ Add Drop Shadow …
✗ … and maybe add Bevel too …
✗ Experiment with all the settings you see here. Try different things - take a risk!
Last Step: Save and View your Work ~
✗ View your work by hitting the keyboard shortcut: Cmd(⌘)+Enter
✗ Save your work as - FIRST_NAME_LAST_NAME_PROJECT_NAME.fla]
• ALWAYS save your projects using the following naming convention:
• DO NOT name your project any other way - Improperly named projects will not receive credit and you will be sad.
• NEVER leave your work on the desktop or depend on a flash drive - instead, save your work in a folder you can find later - preferably on a virtual drive where it can be backed up.
