Step #1: Open your Project in Flash ~

Open YOUR PROJECT in Flash

 

 

… (Remember: all these tutorials are intended to be
applied to YOUR PROJECT) …

… add a New Layer and name it.


Lock all the layers you're not using.


Step #2: Oval Tool ~

Get the Oval Tool which is behind the Rectangle Tool or hit the keyboard shortcut letter: (o) …

… open the Properties menu (if necessary) by hitting the keyboard shortcut letters: Cmd (⌘) + F3 , open Fill and Stroke and set Stroke Color to none.

You can use any Fill Color you want for now.

Step #3: Drag out a Circle ~

Make a circle approximately the size of the cloud or heart shape you want …

Step #4: Select the Fill ~

Get the Selection Tool or hit the keyboard shortcut letter (v) …

Click the fill area inside the circle.

Step #5: Color Mixing & Gradients ~

Go to: Window » Color or hit: Shift (⇧) + Cmd (⌘) + F9 shift key f9 and click on Fill Color

… and select Radial in the Fill Style.

Double-Click on the color selector and pick a color.

Set the other side of your gradient too.


Step #6: Transform the Shape ~

Hover over the line and wait till you see the U shape under the cursor.


Then hold the Alt (⌥)/Option key downalt key click and drag.

Step #7: Make the Shape into a Movie Clip ~

Get the Selection Tool or hit the keyboard shortcut letter (v) …


Double-click on the Shape

… then hit f8(or Right-Click and select: ) and make a Movie Clip.

Step #8: Double Click on the Movie Clip AGAIN ~

Double-click on the new symbol AGAIN to edit it.


Now you are working INSIDE the Movie Clip.

Right-Click on approximately frame 10 or 15 and Insert Keyframe

Step #9: Make the Heart Bigger ~

Then select the Free Transform Tool or hit the keyboard shortcut letter (Q) …


… hold the Shift key down and make the shape a little bigger:

Step #10: Motion Tween ~

Right-Click between keyframes 1 and 15 - select "Create Classic Tween"

… and hit the keyboard shortcut: Cmd(⌘)+Enter to view your work!

Step #11: Make it go Backwards ~

Now go back to Frame 1 keyframe - Right-Click and select Copy Frames

… click on Frame 30 (or twice the distance from Frame 1) …

… Right-Click and Paste Frames.

Lastly, Right-Click between frame 15 and 30, and select Create Classic Tween.


Step #12: Filters ~

Go back to Scene 1 …

FIRST_NAME_LAST_NAME_PROJECT_NAME


  •   DO NOT name your project any other way - Improperly named projects will not receive credit and you will be sad.


  •   NEVER leave your work on the desktop or depend on a flash drive - instead, save your work in a folder you can find later - preferably on a virtual drive where it can be backed up.
